John 12:24
_"Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. 12:25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. 12:26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour."_

The word 'except' implies a condition given. The condition for a corn of a wheat to bear much fruit is to die to it original self. And except that condition is fulfilled, it remains alone. It stays unproductive. It is obvious now, that the reason why someone will remain unproductive is when the individual refused to die to self.
There is an important need to deny our selfish nature inorder to follow the Lord Jesus Christ. Self will hinder total commitment to the Lord, if you don't lay it down completely on the altar. The implication of surrendering your life to Christ is that, He is now your personal Lord and Savior.
It is unprofitable to you, if you love your life and withhold it from serving the Lord, when you realise that He is in need of you. 'He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.' Don't be afraid of losing, what you cannot keep.
If anyone will serve Him, the individual must first follow Him and become a disciple. Dying to self is a process of the dealing of the Lord in your life. Deny yourself, take up your cross and follow Him. He has promised that, His servants shall be where He is and the Father will honour whoever serves the Lord. What a glory! Hallelujah!!!

I praise you Lord for the privilege to serve you. I surrender my life to you, take hold of it for your glory, in Jesus name. Amen!
