Joshua 7:1 But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against the children of Israel.
*No Curse without a Cause*
The sin of a man cost the whole children of Israel a defeat before a small nation called Ai. The spy who went to view the country in their perspective, underrated the people of the country, but everyone became shocked when the children of Israel's army were put to flight and fled. About 36 men died out of about 2000 people that were sent.
The cause for the defeat was unknown to them, until Joshua sought the face of the Lord and the Lord revealed unto him that there was an accursed thing in the camp Israel and gave him the instruction to search out the fellow, who took the accursed thing into the camp. So, they brought out the people tribes by tribes and Judah was chosen, then families by families and household by household until Achan the son of Carmi, the the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah was picked.
The disobedient of this one man troubled the entire nation of Israel and they suffered defeat before their enemies. The Lord's presence was withdrawn from their camp and the LORD wasn't willing to be with them until the person with the accursed thing was searched out and dealt with appropriately. Many atimes there are causes for the difficulties that we're going through and there can't be a solution, until it's reaveled and properly dealt with. The Lord is not an author of confusion. "The curse causeless shall not come" (Prov. 26:2)
There are things which someone might have done casually or ignorantly, which can affect the entire generation, until the foundation is properly dealt with. If, the foundation is not well addressed by a revelation through prayer, one may suffer for it ignorantly. We must search deep in the Spirit to find out the cause of certain issues in our lives, expecially when we are experiencing a repeated failure and defeat. It's not the will of God for us to stay in perpetual defeat. The hands of the Lord is not too short to save and to deliver.

Thank you Abba Father, for the revelation knowledge of your word. LORD, I ask for your mercy to prevail over judgement. Visit my foundation by mercy and break every curse. Sanctify me with the precious blood of Jesus Christ and make me whole. Thank you Lord for answering my prayers in Jesus name. Amen!
