"But you, LORD, do not be far from me. You are my strength; come quickly to help me."

๐Ÿ”– Cleaving to God in Distress

The time of distress is when you will really know the nature of people that are around you. There are people who will leave you during that season. It's rare seeing people identify with you during difficult times. If, you have anyone standing with you during that season in your life cherish them well, because they're the true friends. The time of distress is when people suffer rejection the most.

There's a friend that sticks than a brother. It's only God that is absolutely reliable. You might outrightly let go when every other persons leave but never allow God to leave you. A person is finished, when God walks away from his/her life. The presence of God is a consolation in the times of trouble. His presence in your life will calm every storms.

The psalmist in the above verse was passionate about getting God's attention in the time of distress. He understands that his survival fully depends on the divine help of God. He couldn't afford to let the presence of God be far away from him. He pleaded in prayer, "But, you LORD, be not far away from me." Take note of the word 'but' i.e even if others are far away but you LORD...

This is cleaving to God in distress. Understanding that there's no other god besides the mighty warrior who saves and deliver those who trust in him. Put your confidence in the living God. Seek His face early and call upon His name, as the psalmist did. "You're my strength; come quickly to help me."

๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ PRAYER

I'm grateful Lord for Your love and care. I cleave my heart to you in my time of distress. I confess that you are my strength. My all in all. Please, come quickly to help me in Jesus name. Amen!
