' _And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.'_ (1 Kings  18:45) 

🔮 TOPIC:*A Great Rain*

The children of Israel were still serving and worshipping baal during the three and half years, when there was no rain in the land. There was severe famine in the whole land, and despite their sufferings and pain, they would not turn their hearts to the Lord. The prophet of Baal couldn't open the shower of rain, that was shut by prophet Elijah and the number of the prophet of baal grew to 450.

It was such a critical time that, even Jezebel slayed the prophets of the Lord, but the Lord used Obadiah, the servant of the king to hide about 100 prophets by 50 in a cave and he fed them with bread and water. They have been looking for Prophet Elijah everywhere, but they couldn't find him. The appointed time of visitation from God came to turn the hearts of His people back to Him, so the word of the Lord came to the prophet Elijah to show himself before king Ahab. He summoned the people to mount Carmel to show them a proof that the Lord is God. The rain did not fall until the heart of the people was turned to the Lord. They saw the raw demonstration of God's power.

The prophets of baal who have deceived them all these years couldn't perform. They call on baal for fire, but they did not hear any voice and no one showed up. But, at the time of evening sacrifice, Elijah the servant of the living God called upon the Lord and the fire fell, which water in the trench could not quench. The people repented and turned towards the Lord and shortly Elijah told Ahab to go to eat and drink, while he went to pray. Elijah pressed in the place of prayer with his face bended in between his knees. He sent his servant to look about seven times for a sign of rain and in verse 45 the Bible says...  'And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.' (1 Kings  18:45). The beginning of revival is when the heart of people begins to turn towards God. There is a great rain coming upon our land, as we begin to draw our hearts in seeking God. There is no other gods, beside the living God.

👏🏾PRAYER OF FAITH

I stand in awe of your power and glory. Lord, draw my heart closer to you and send your great rain upon our land, until we're wet and soaked with the latter rain in Jesus name. Amen!
