Revelation 3:4
_'Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.'_
*# Divine Promise for He that Overcomes.*
There are stages of spiritual battles in the Christian faith and the contentions is targeted at our faith. There are temptations which seeks to soiled the garment of a believer.
Jesus could find few names in the church at Sardis, which have not defiled their garments and he gave them a divine promise of walking with him in white, because they walked worthy. They took stand for holiness and the Lord took notice of their spiritual walk with Him.
The Lord further gave another divine promise to whosoever emerge victorious inspite of the perverseness and falling away of others from spiritual truth. There are false doctrines today, which has led many astray from the path of truth. The ancient landmark is still open to those who will make a choice to stand upright and not compromise the standard that was set from the time of old.
In the context of today's church, are you among the few names that have not defiled their garments with immoral lifestyle. Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? Are your garments spotless, are they white as snow?
The Lord promised that, he that overcomes shall be clothed with white raiment (cloth)' and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.'
