_11:44 For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.  11:45 For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy._

*#Sanctify Yourself and You Shall be Holy.*

As we decided to come nigh unto God, it's important that, we first of all know the personality of Him. One of the paramount personality of God is Holiness. He is a Holy God and he expects everyone that comes near unto him to be holy. Whosoever, that will make the LORD his or her God must be separated unto the Lord from their sins and the works of the flesh that worketh death.

The eyes of the Lord cannot behold iniquity, that was why our Lord Jesus Christ had to cry out, while he was carrying the sins of the whole world on the cross. He said, my Father, my Father, my Father, why have thou forsaken me? It was a translation for Eloi, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabathani. God turned his face away from Jesus Christ, that very moment when he was bearing our sins on the cross, which was the first ever time that the Father would forsake His only begotten Son. It was very unusual of him, but it was for our sake. He was forsaken, so that you and I will not be forever forsaken.

He died for our sins, so that he can present us holy unto God, without blemish. His death orchestrate a separation between us and our sins, that we may also be accepted of the Father. He redeemed us by his precious blood and grafted us into sonship, making us a joint heirs of his eternal kingdom.

In the Old Testament, holiness was practice by physical abstinence from things that makes a man unclean. But, the Lord Jesus came and revealed the root of what defiles a man. He said, it is not what goes into the mouth that defile a man but what proceedeth out of the mouth.

_Matthew  15:16 And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding?  15:17 Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?  15:18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.  15:19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:  15:20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man._

Our hearts must be sanctify and we should be holy in our conducts, for the LORD God is holy. Holiness is not just a religious practice, it is lifestyle that cannot be separated from the life of a Christian, as long as you identify with God as your Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior.

#God bless you

Lord Jesus Christ, grant me a perfect understanding of how to live a holy life. I receive grace to be separated from every unclean thoughts and attitudes. Sanctify me and make me holy as you are holy, in Jesus name. Amen!
