๐ ๐ ๐ Text (Acts 18:24)
_"And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus. This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John. And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly."_ (Acts 18:24-26)
๐ฎ TOPIC: *Learning God's Way*
There are people who feel they know everything, yet they know nothing. Apollos was a prominent man with wisdom. He was an eloquent man and mighty in the scripture but he wasn't proud. He was willing to learn and know more. He was instructed in the way of the LORD and very zealous to share his believe and the knowledge which he has received about the Lord. He came to Ephesus to preach and teach the body of Christ about the ways of the LORD.
He showed fervency in the Spirit, teaching diligently and boldly about the things of the LORD, though he only knew the baptism of John. The courage of this man of God is highly commendable. There are people who might know better than he does, but they might not be courageous enough to share their faith with others. Knowledge is not meant for your edification alone, it's meant to be impacted to others by passing it on. There are those who are ever learning, but never come to the knowledge of truth. Acquisition of knowledge is never enough, you get to know better and acquire more knowledge when you shared the little ones you know
If, Apollos haven't shared that which He knew with the people of Ephesus, the measure that he has would not have increased. Thank God for the methorship role that Aquila and Precillia played in his life and ministry. He was also open minded to know more about the ways of God. He admitted that the knowledge he had about the things of God was limited and was willing to learn more from the elderly ones. Remember, that this man was said to be eloquent and mighty in the scripture, but he wasn't arrogant. He was sincere and honest. He would not allow the applause and commendations of men to cloud his mind and miss out of a more deeper revelational knowledge about Christ.
There's so many things we can learn from the life of this man of God. No one is an highland of wisdom or knowledge. We know in part and prophesy in part. We can do better, if we are open to corrections and learning more from others. The ways of God is wide beyond human imaginations. "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."(Isaiah 55:8-9). The means to learn and know more about God's way is to be taught. We should never feel to big to surrender and be taught the ways of God.
๐๐พPrayer of Faith
I'm grateful Lord, because you a gracious and merciful God. Please Lord, open my eyes of understanding to know you more and walk daily according to your will and purpose, in Jesus name. Amen!
