๐Ÿ“– ๐Ÿ“– ๐Ÿ“– TEXT (2 Samuel 15:31-34)

_'For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.'_ (Psalms  51:16-17)

๐Ÿ”ฎ TOPIC: *The Sacrifices of God*

The Lord God does not delight in religion rituals. The sacrifices of animals was not  sufficient to appease God. The blood of goats and ram cannot remove the guilt of sin. The full redemption of man came through a man with broken spirit and contrite heart who voluntarily laid down His life for the salvation of all men. The depth of God's love for humanity made Him offered His only begotten Son to reconcile us back to Himself.

If, any sacrifice will be acceptable, it must come out of inner brokenness. It's not about the value or worth of the sacrifice, but the status of the heart and life of the person offering the sacrifice. Abel's offering was accepted not because of the kind of sacrifice he offered but the condition of his heart in bringing the offering. Cain was rejected and his offering. If, he had been accepted by God, his offering would have also been accepted. 'And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. (Genesis  4:6-7)

God will not despise a broken spirit and a contrite heart. He does not delight in sacrifice or burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A heart wrapped up in humility and reference to God. You may not have anything to offer, yet may leave God's presence blessed than someone who have come with the fatlings of rams and bullocks. The pharisees and a sinner went up to pray. 'The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. (Luke  18:11-14)

๐Ÿ‘๐ŸพPrayer of Faith

Thank you Lord for the greatest sacrifice that you have offered for the salvation of all men. Help me Lord to present my body, as a living sacrifice Holy and acceptable unto you, in Jesus name. Amen!
