📖 📖 📖 TEXT (Proverbs 3:11-13)
_'My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction: For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth. Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.'_
🔮 TOPIC: *Despise not the Chastening of the LORD*
There are times, when the father discipline his children. A child that is not adequately corrected will go astray. Discipline by parents does not mean that they hate the child, but it's an effort to guide and protect the child from danger. It's an act of love not hatred. A life that is void of discipline is in shambles. The rod of correction resets the mind of a child to order.
God chastises those who He loves. He does not condole sin and errors. He wants us to be perfect, as He is perfect (Matt. 5:58). As God's dear children, we must take heed to God's warning and corrections. He does not spare the rod, when we err from the path of truth. He's the best Father, always trying to bring us back on the right track. There are special instruments that God uses to correct His children. When somethings are working against you, it might be that the Lord is trying to get your attention. Sometimes Satan can serve as an instrument to correct someone who is erring from the truth. 'For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed, In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.' (1 Corinthians 5:3-5).
Though, taking corrections is not always easy to the natural man, but it is for our own good and the preservation of our lives. Do not despise the chastening of the LORD. It's wisdom to admit that you are wrong and take heed to His instruction. Happy is the man that finds wisdom and get understanding. The understanding of God's dealing will help you to go farther in life. If, you are humble enough to take corrections, the Lord will lift you up and you will never be ashamed. Pride will keep a man down the earth, while humility will lift a man up and keep him at the top.

I'm grateful Lord for this word of wisdom. Please, correct me when I'm wrong and help me stay humble to receive corrections and amend my ways in Jesus name. Amen!
