_'And the seven years of dearth began to come, according as Joseph had said: and the dearth was in all lands; but in all the land of Egypt there was bread. And when all the land of Egypt was famished, the people cried to Pharaoh for bread: and Pharaoh said unto all the Egyptians, Go unto Joseph; what he saith to you, do. And the famine was over all the face of the earth: And Joseph opened all the storehouses, and sold unto the Egyptians; and the famine waxed sore in the land of Egypt. And all countries came into Egypt to Joseph for to buy corn; because that the famine was so sore in all lands.`_
🔮 TOPIC:*The Significance of the Life of Joseph*
Joseph was raised by God for a particular time and season in the land of Egypt for the preservation of lives. The arrow gift of God in his life was interpretation of dreams. He dreamt about his future, while he was still very young. He was to be a star in his generation. He had two consecutive dreams about his brethren and parents bowing down to him. He interpreted dream for Pharaoh's cup butler and chief baker in the prison, which came to pass in three days. He was also invited by Pharaoh, after the chief butler recommended him to the king, when he had a dream which no wise men in Egypt could interpret.
Joseph gave an accurate interpretation of Pharaoh's dream to mean seven years of plenty and seven years of severe famine that will swallow the seven years of plenty, as if the land has never experienced abundance in the past years. He instructed Pharaoh on what to do, giving a profound solution to curb the effect of the famine in the land of Egypt. He was found to be the best in position to be the governor over the land, as powerful as Pharaoh in giving order. The people were to take direct order from him. This was the peak of his significance. 'And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is? And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art: Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou. And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt. And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck; And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt. (Genesis 41:38-43).
The moment the seven years of dearth or famine began, all the land of Egypt was famished and the people cried to Pharaoh for bread, but the king directed them to Joseph, because he knew he has the solution to the problem. Imagine, if Joseph was not in the scene and he had not prepared ahead for the people during the years of dearth? The famine was over all the face of the earth at that time, but in all the land of Egypt there was bread and people came all over the place to buy bread in the land of Egypt and that was how the brethren of Joseph eventually came across their brother, whom they had long time ago sold to Egypt, as a slave but he is now a prime minister and couldn't any longer recognized him until he revealed himself, that 'I am Joseph.'
You have been chosen by God also to make a difference in your generation. Joseph had many difficulties in his life, before he arrived at his destination, but he never give up. He might not have wished to experience all that he went through, but had no choice, because it was a process designed by God to get him to where He intended to take him. He rose to a position of significance at a very critical time in a foreign land, his dream came true. Are you having a similar story like Joseph?
