📖 📖 📖 TEXT (Matthew 25:1-7)
_'Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.'_
🔮 TOPIC:*The Bridegroom Cometh*
The Lord spoke in parables severally about the kingdom of heaven. In the above parable He likened the kingdom of heaven to ten virgins, which took their lamp and went forth to meet the bridegroom. They were all virgins waiting and expecting the arrival of the bridegroom for the great wedding feast. They have an assurance that He will come but don't know the day nor the hour.
Five of the virgins were wise, because they took with them extra oil in their vessels. They were fully ready and prepared for the bridegroom at any moment of the day or night. They will not experience burn out, because the lamp will continue burning in as much there's a constant supply of oil. The other five were foolish, because they were eager for the coming of the bridegroom, but are not adequately prepared and ready at any time of day or night. They probably assumed that which they have will be sufficient to meet the bridegroom, but unfortunately the bridegroom didn't arrive on time. He arrived, when everyone least expected. A time when everyone has slept off. And suddenly, there was a midnight cry behold, the bridegroom cometh!
Alas, all the virgins woke up from sleep, but the foolish ones discovered that their lamps were burning out, because there was no more oil, so they began to beg for oil from the wise virgin, but they would not take chances with that which they have, so it can be sufficient for them. They told the foolish virgins to go and buy. It was too late, the market is already closed and before they returned the bridegroom has arrived and the wise virgins went forth with the bridegroom and the door of grace was shut. The foolish virgins couldn't longer enter after they returned back. They missed out in going with the bridegroom
The promise of the Lord concerning His return for the Saints still stands. Behold, He cometh! Will you be ready when the Lord shall come? Are you not too busy with activities, that you don't have adequate time to fellowship with God. Avoid costly assumptions, and be ready always. Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? Are your garment spotless? Be devoted and committed in following the Lord passionately. Let your heart pant for more of God.

I'm grateful Lord for your goodness and mercy towards me. Give me Lord, the grace to be ready and prepared for your coming and not be ashamed on that great day, in Jesus name. Amen!
