_“I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me. Then suddenly the Lord you are seeking will come to his temple; the messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, will come,” says the LORD Almighty."_ (Malachi 3:1)
🔮 *The Messenger of the Covenant*
The Jews have been eagerly waiting for the messiah, since the time of the old testament. The prophet of old perceived the coming of the messiah and prophesied long time ago about His appearance. They eagerly look into the time this would be fulfilled. The people were all waiting for this great promise of God, because they believed that His coming will bring such a great relief from pain, sorrow and hardship to the world.
Nevertheless, the LORD promised that a messenger would be sent before Him to prepare the way of the Lord and by confirmation we saw that this was fulfilled in John the Baptist. 'For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.' (Matthew 3:3). The ministry of John the Baptist ursher in the coming of the messanger of the covenant
The messanger of the covenant, the Saviour of the world, our Lord Jesus Christ has brought redemption to the world. He has brought the hope of salvation from the corruption that is in the world. He has brought eternal life to limelight through the covenant. He has made peace with God on our behalf through the sacrifice of his body for our sins and has sealed the covenant with His own blood. 'To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.' (2 Corinthians 5:19). He has finished the works of salvation on the cross and He's beckoning on every hungry and thirsty souls to come to Him and find rest.
