 _'For we did not follow cleverly devised stories when we told you about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in power, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.'_ (2 Peter 1:16)

🔮 *Eyewitnesses of His Majesty* 

The apostles bear record to the great coming of the Lord Jesus Christ in power, because they were eyewitnesses of His majesty. They saw the raw power and glory of Christ while He was with them. Peter, James and John were with the Lord on the mount of transfiguration where Moses and Elijah descended to talk with Jesus. The disciples trembling for the uncommon experience of the glory they saw. Peter exclaimed, 'It's good that we are here!' He proposed making a terbanacle for the three of them, but as he speak a bright cloud overshadowed them. A shelter that was not built with human hands!

They heard a voice from heaven that says,  '...This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.'(Matthew  17:5b). 'And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid. And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid. And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only. (Matthew 17:6-8). The several encounters that the apostles had with the Lord were tangible. They became thouroughly convinced by the Spirit that Jesus the Son of God is the Christ.

The gospel that they preached to the world was not a cunningly devised stories cooked up to cajole people. They defended the truth that they believed with their own life. They were persecuted for it, severely beaten. Some were put in the prison, while some were killed but they remained faithful witnesses of the glory of Christ. They could not but talk about it, because they were eyewitnesses of His majesty. The encounters happened right before their very eyes and nobody could change their minds otherwise from that which they have seen, touched and handle. The word of life!

 Almighty God, I bless your name because you're my God. Give me the grace to become a faithful witness of the knowledge of truth that has been passed unto me, in Jesus name. Amen! 🙏
