_'In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.'_ (James 2:17)

๐Ÿ”ฎ *Faith and Action*

Faith is defined as the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. The apostle James shed more light on corresponding action to faith. Faith by itself not accompanied by work is dead. Even, when we believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, we are believing in the finished work that He did on the cross. Faith might look so simple, but it's not for a lazy fellow. Though, the works of salvation were finished on the cross. Everyone, needs to take an action of faith to believe and trust in the Lord to be saved.

The disciples of Jesus Christ couldn't do certain miracles, while the Lord was with them because of their lack of faith and they were rebuked for their unbelief. There was a time when a tempest storms arose, while in the ship and they were all troubled but the LORD was sleeping somewhere in the ship and they went there to wake him up. 'And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.' (Matthew  8:24-26)

They were rebuked for their little faith, which means they had faith at least little, but it was void of action by putting the faith to work; in other words rebuking the wind, just as Jesus did and there was a great calm. The Lord expected that, they would have done the same thing. Faith without work is dead. There are action that we have to take to show that we really have faith. The action manifests faith and bring things from the invisible realm to reality. The heroes of faith listed in the book of Hebrews chapter 11 did incredible things, that showed that they really had faith. 'And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. (Hebrews  11:32-38)
