 _"In accordance with your great love, forgive the sin of these people, just as you have pardoned them from the time they left Egypt until now.”_ (Numbers 14:19)

🔮 *INTERCESSION*

In the above passage, we saw Moses the servant of God Interceding on the behalf of the children of Israel, whom he was sent to lead to the promised land. It was a consistent practice of Moses, whenever the people do anything contrary to the commandment of God. Moses played a vital role to sustain the relationship that the people had with God, so they can inherit God's promises.

The hardness of heart of the people, would have aborted the plans of God for them long time ago, but Moses through intercession reminded God of His character and covenant. He knew that God was so loving and easy to forgive. He appealed to God on their behalf, that He may forgive their sins just as He has constantly do since they left Egypt. This scenario seemed to be the peak of the crisis of unbelief, they were even almost possessing the land, which the Lord God had promised them. But, they murmured against Moses and Aaron and preferred to have died in Egypt, because of the bad report about the giants that some of the spys claimed they saw, when they went over to spy the land. They persisted in unbelief, and couldn't see the possibility of possessing the land. It was only Joshua and Caleb who had a different opinion and believed the word of God, that they were able to possess the land.

Moses was a man of God who understood the power of intercession. He pleaded with God to pardon the people, so that God's impending wrath can pass over them. Moses operated in the spiritual office of a king, prophet and priest as a leader over the great people of God. If, not for the intercession of Moses, the people might not have inherit the promise land. The Lord considered the words of His servant Moses and kept the covenant He had with their fathers. It was quite surprising that, there was no man to intercede for Moses before God. Today, God looks for men who will stand in the gap for their families, church and nations. God still hears and answers the prayers of His people who call upon Him out of a pure heart.

Heavenly Father, I thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Please, help me to be a faithful intercessor from this time forward, in Jesus name. Amen
