'For we did not follow cleverly devised stories when we told you about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in power, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. ( 2 Peter 1:16)
🔀 *The Authenticity of the Gospel* 🔀
The gospel is not mere a story and history written in the bible. The apostle Peter was laying emphasis on the authenticity of the gospel in the above verse, when he says they didn't follow a cleverly devised stories, when they were witnessing about the coming of the LORD Jesus Christ in power to the people.
They were testifying, to that which they had seen and heard. The disciples were eyewitnesses of His majesty. They spent their lives following the Lord and had many experiences with Him. Their convictions was not just based on facts but the truth. They witness the power and authority in the name of the LORD Jesus Christ.
The gospel was crystal clear, knowing that the Lord died for the sins of the whole world, was buried and rose up from the grave in the third day. The message of the gospel was authentic to them and were confident to be a witnesses of Christ, after His ascension back to heaven. The authencity of the gospel is confirmed in the life of whosoever believe the gospel. Amen!
