 _"I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.” (Luke 24:49)._ 

📍 *Tarrying for the Power*📍

The Lord assured the disciples that, He would send what His Father has promised, I.e the Holy Spirit. He knew that they would not be able to do much without the presence of the power of the Holy Spirit in their lives. So, it was better that they wait until the fulfillment of the promise, before they'll move from the city to carryout the mandate of world evangelization. 

They were not told the specific time, that the promise would be fulfilled, but they were instructed to stay in the city until they have been clothed with power from on high. Obedience is better than sacrifice! The disciples were to wait I.e tarry to receive the power of the Holy Spirit to become effective in fulfilling the great commission. Waiting is part of obedience to receive God's promises. 

Do not be in a haste, it is profitable to wait when the Lord instruct you to wait. God's will and leading is the priority in fulfillment of purpose. It's costly assumption to move without tarrying for power. Each and everyone, called by the Lord are equipped with power from on high to be able to finish well and strong.

Heavenly Father, I thank you for the promise of the Holy Spirit and power to do your will on earth. I wait on you Lord, to receive the outpouring of your Spirit and power in Jesus name. Amen!
