Jesus Christ revealed to the sister of Lazarus that, He is the resurrection and life. The mystery here is that resurrection is a person and not just an event that takes place. It was impossible for death to hold the resurrection and the life captive. He has made the statement even a while ago, before his death and resurrection.
Christ arose from the dead on the third day, as He has said before time. The tomb where he was buried was secured with a stone, so that his disciples will not come and take his body away and claimed that He has resurrected. They did all that they could do to ensure that, the prophecy did not come to pass, but had no idea of the unstoppable power of resurrection.
On the resurrection morning the stone had been rolled away by an angel of the LORD and He sat on it. The guards that were put there could not stop the angels, they were terrified with their appearance. Resurrection provided a strong base for our faith. The one who believes in the resurrection and life I.e Jesus Christ will live, even though they die. Death is not the final bus-stop for believers, but the beginning of a more glorious eternal life with Jesus.

Praise be unto you Father. I believe in Jesus, as the resurrection and life. I receive the abundance of life, which He has promised in Jesus name. Amen!
