The ministry of John the Baptist has always give reference to the Lord Jesus Christ. Inspite, of all the fame that John had among the people at that time, he did not hesitate to point the people's attention to Jesus the Son of the living God. It all began the day Jesus was to be baptized by John, he let the people realized that he had only come to prepare the way for the Messiah, but that the Messiah is greater than him and would baptize them with the Holy Spirit and fire. 

In today's passage, we read that John was pointing the attention of certain people to the Lamb of God, and these people were his own disciples. He tried to draw their attention towards Jesus, since the first day that the Lord pass by. It seems they didn't really understand what he meant the first time. He repeated it the next day, until their understanding opened and they left to follow Christ. 

The Lamb of God is He that takes away the sin of the world. Everyone must behold Him to be saved from their sins. He's the hope of the world. It's a waste of time and years on earth, if you haven't encountered the Lamb of God. You may quite be religious, but still swimming in sin, it's wise for you to behold the Lamb of God this day. Are you struggling with sin and do not know the way to come out from the shackles? Oh! behold the Lamb of God. He will show you the path of life, the moment you decide to follow Him.

I'm grateful Lord for your light that shines upon me to be able to behold the Lamb, that was slain for my sins. I believe in you Lord Jesus and fix my eyes on you to be saved from all my sins and receive the new life, which you have promised, in Jesus name. Amen!
