 _'Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts. Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols. But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream. (Amos 5:22-24)._

There are things we do, that the Lord will not accept because of our negligence of the weightier matters. There's no amount of money you can use to appease God and try to find His Favour. The kind of offering, that both Cain and Abel brought to God wasn't the determinant of their acceptability before Him. Men look at the outward appearance but the Lord look deep down inside of you. 

The manifestation of the content of the heart shows your real identity. The murder of Abel by Cain, depict the kind of person that Cain truly was, and it gives more clarity on why the Lord had rejected him and his offering. It's our lives that God first look at, before accepting anything we offer unto Him as a sacrifice.

The LORD desire to see justice roll on like a river and righteousness as a mighty stream. He's not interested in fat offerings without holiness and sanctification. Our songs will only be a noise in His ears, if we do not render true worship and forsake the lifestyle of hypocrisy. He wouldn't care to listen to the melodious voice of fornicators, adulterer, and liars etc.

Heavenly Father, I'm grateful for the light You shed daily on my path. I pray that justice and righteousness flows like a mighty stream in my generation, in Jesus name. Amen!
