*The Resurrection And the Life*

The resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ from the dead was a mystery. It was even difficult for the early disciples to believe what the women that went to the selpucher on the resurrection morning heard from the two angels, that appeared to them on their way returning from the selpucher. "And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not." (Luke 24:11)
It simply means, there are certain things they had forgotten, which the Lord had already told them before the time appointed. The resurrection was like a shock to them, it seems they were not really expectant to receive Jesus alive on the third day. They had been really perplexed about the series of events that took place some few days ago during all the trials.
The Lord has once said to Martha, I'm the resurrection and the life.' It was impossible for death to hold Jesus captive. Jesus is Lord, even in the grave. He went their on a mission and after all the things was accomplished, He rose up from the dead at the speculated time. 'He that believes in the Lord Jesus, though he were dead, he shall yet live.' There's an eternal life extension for a person who is in Christ, even after death.
