 _"For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:  6:15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."_

 *The Reciprocal of Forgiveness*

Forgiveness is key in the Christian life. In as much we all need God and other fellow people to forgive our trespasses, we must all learn to forgive one another. There is a condition attached to receiving forgiveness from the Heavenly Father. The condition is that, you have to forgive men their trespasses. 

It simply means there's a valid record that shows, whether you do forgive men their trespasses or not, which determines whether the Heavenly Father will forgive you or not. Forgiveness is reciprocal in the sense that, you will also at a point in time need God or someone to forgive your trespasses. 

You can't because of the depth of pain or inconveniences that someone has caused for you, to shut the door of your heart to forgive and move on. The best way to quickly recover from the hurt is to forgive the person and let go the matter that has caused trouble between you. 

There are people who ignorantly hurt people and don't really understand the extent of the damage to the person soul. Yet, we can also forgive the people in that category. At the climax of the sufferings of Jesus Christ on the cross, after all the things that the people have done to Him. He was pleading forgiveness for them in the midst of pain and agony. "Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots." (Luke  23:34). Forgiveness is not negotiable, it is an important part of Christianity.

Dear Lord Jesus, help my heart to always forgive those who hurt me. I receive the Spirit of grace to overcome offences and be willing to offer forgiveness from my heart, in Jesus name. Amen!
