Ecclesiastes  5:1

_"Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil.  5:2 Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few."_

 *Moderation of Speech*

There is freedom of speech, but we must also be aware of the danger of speech. The house of God should be more of a place to listen to God, than to be rash with the mouth in speaking, which can hinder the blessings of God. It is not a gossip center, which many have turned it to be and discard everything they hear from the pulpit on the platform of gossip and backbiting.

The scripture instructed us to be more ready to hear than to give sacrifice of fools. God is more concerned about what you get from His presence than what you give. There are sacrifices that are not acceptable, because the Lord looks first at the life of the person offering the sacrifice, Cain is a case study. We must consider our ways before God.

The Lord is not pleased with what comes out of the mouth of some people. "For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body." (James  3:2 ). The words of mouth can put a man in trouble before God. There should be a moderation of speech to avoid falling into error.

We should not be hasty to utter any thing before God. He knows exactly the problems of every individual, which cannot be greater than the power of God. The Lord will not treat anyone unjustly, for He is a just God. You can handover everything to God and He will do justice to the issues in your heart. Let your words be few and leave the rest. He understands your pains and feelings, wait for His righteous judgement. Even before we call, He said He will answer.

🙏PRAYER 🙏

Thank you Lord for the gift of speech. I ask for grace to be able to moderate what I say and not sin against you, in Jesus name. Amen!
