SACRIFICE OF LOVE

Love involves a strong affections and feeling for another person. The God kind of love, which is spiritual is Agape. It is an unconditional love. He loved us, even when we were not deserving His love. In Genesis chapter six, 'God saw that the wickedness of man was great and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was evil continually.' "And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them." (Genesis 6:6-7).
The initial plan of God was to wipe out all the creatures off the face of the earth. But, a man called Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD and through him other creatures were to be preserved. God was willing to save all the people at that time provided, they yielded to the warning and instruction that He gave to Noah that the people both male and female should enter the ark of Noah. The people didn't listen, only Noah's family made it, with other living creatures after their kinds.
Noah builded an altar after the flood and offered burnt offerings on the altar. The sacrifice pleased God and He made an everlasting covenant to preserve the earth and the inhabitants. _"And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done. While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease._ (Genesis 8:21-22). Man can also touch God with sacrifice of love and initiate covenant with God.
The greatest of all sacrifice of love is the gift of God's beloved Son, Jesus Christ for our ultimate redemption. 'Whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish but have everlasting life.' There's no true love without sacrifice. And, It always cost something to abide in love. Sacrifice keeps the bond of love. Love gives and forgive. Jesus loves you, but how much do you love Him?

I'm grateful Father, for the great sacrifice of your beloved Son. I'm thankful for His death, burial and resurrection. I ask for grace to love Him more and love my neighbors, even as I love myself, in Jesus name. Amen!
