2 John  1:5 

 _And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.  1:6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it._

 *#This is Love* 

Love is not just an empty confession of the mouth, it is an action word. It's foundational in the Christian walk. You don't just talk love, you walk in it. And, it's not possible for two people to walk in love, except there is an agreement binding them together. Can two walk together except they agree? (Amos 3:3)

We are commanded to love one another. Love breeds mutual relationship. It's a give and take, if you love someone and the person does not love you in return, that relationship cannot work. It is love that can unite the body of Christ, in spite of all our inadequacies and diversity of backgrounds.

This is love, that we walk after His commandments. You cannot claim to love God and ignore His commandments. The level of our love for God, is measured by the level of our obedience to His commandments. 

"And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me. (Gen. 22:12). Love produces genuine fear(reverence) of God. Mutual love initiates covenant, we walk in covenant with God, when we love Him through our obedience.

I thank you Lord for your first love towards me. I pray for grace to walk in love with You and other believers, all the days of my life, in Jesus mighty name. Amen!
