 _'For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.  1:17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.  1:18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount._

 *#Eyewitnesses of His Majesty* 

The apostle Peter in his epistle was writing with a deep conviction of their encounter with Christ, while they were with Him. They were raw eye witnesses of His majesty. 

The gospel is not a cunningly devised fables passed on to the generation of human race on the surface of the earth. The disciples of Jesus Christ during the days of His ministry in the world, were first hand witnesses of His power and glory. 

Peter, James, and John were with the Lord in the mount of transfiguration(Matt. 17) and testified to the truth that Christ received glory and honour from God the Father. They heard the voice clearly from excellent glory above, which testified about Jesus being the beloved Son of God. 'This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.'

The gospel is the power of God unto salvation to all who believed. The eyewitnesses of His majesty testified about what they saw and the Holy Spirit confirmed their words to be true with signs, wonders and miracles by the effective use of the name of Jesus, which is full of power. 'He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.' (John  3:33)

 Father, I give you glory and praise for your words are true. I pray that many eyes will be opened to believe in your only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, sent to the world to save them for their sins, in His mighty name I pray. Amen!
