Genesis 4:7
_"If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.”_
*#You Must Rule Over It*
The expectation of God for his people is to rule over sin not the other way round. We are opening door for sin to take hold of our lives, when we continue doing what is not right.
Many times, it is not that we do not know what is right, but because the fallen nature of sin, which is trans-generational by the natural birth finds pleasure in doing what is wrong, then we become vulnerable to the lusts which appeals to the human senses. Sin is crouching at the door seeking for opportunities to take control of the lives of those who embraces it suggestions in their hearts and chose to live according to it's desire.
We have greater advantage in the new testament to rule over sin, because the Lord Jesus Christ has destroyed the power of sin on the cross. He bore our sins in His own body.(1 Peter 2:24). He didn't only died for the sins that we committed, but also dealt with the nature of sin I.e Mr. Flesh which produces sins. "And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts." (Galatians 5:24)
It's when you do what is right, that you will be accepted and even your offerings. (Matt. 5:23-24). God expects that his children will do what is right before Him and not what is right in their own eyes. We need to keep our minds renewed always that we may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Rom.12:2).
_"For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace." (Romans 6:14)_

Father, I pray that you keep me in perpetual victory over sin, the world, and Satan, in Jesus name. Amen!
