Acts 2:32
_This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. 2:33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear._
*#The Promise of the Holy Spirit*
The disciples were witnesses that Christ was raised up by God.
'To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:' (Acts 1:3)
They saw him after he resurrected. He assembled together with them and commanded them that, they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which they have heard of him. (vs 4)
The promise of the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples on the day of Pentecost, which was 50 days after Easter. They were all in one place with one accord, when 'suddenly came a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.' Then, cloven tongues as of fire appeared and sat upon each of them.
_"And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." (Acts 2:4)_
Multitude of people came together from diver places, because that every man heard them speaking in his own language. 'They were all amazed and marvelled.' While, some other people mocked them and said they were full of wine. Then, Peter stood up with the eleven and explained to the people, what they are seeing and hearing. He made them to understand that, Christ Jesus has been exalted by the right hand of God and have received of the Father, the promise of the Holy Spirit and poured it upon them and the evidence is what the people see and hear. He further told them that, the promise was for the people as well. The filling of the Holy Spirit compelled the apostles to preach the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. About, three thousand souls were added to the church that day, after the sermon of Peter and they did much more exploits thereafter.
_"For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call." (Acts 2:39)_

Dear Lord Jesus, let the promise of the Holy Spirit manifest also in my life. Pour out your Spirit upon all flesh, just as you have promised, in Jesus name. Amen!
