Genesis 15:4
_And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir. 15:5 And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. 15:6 And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness._
*#The Transaction of Faith*
Abraham had long time ago, enjoyed what believers in Christ Jesus are to experience. The word of the LORD came to him, as a promise and he believed in the LORD. Righteousness was credited unto him as a result of his faith in the LORD.
He didn't just believed in the promises, the scripture said 'he believed in the LORD.' If he had only believed in the promises, probably he would have only see the promises came to pass, but his faith in the LORD who gave him the promises generated righteousness, which comes by faith.
The imputed righteousness of God is by faith. It is such righteousness that gives man right standing with God. It gives man access to stand before the presence of God uncondemmed. It is unmerited, you don't earn it by works. It's faith that gets the transaction done!
The righteousness of God is imputed on whosoever believes in the son of God, Jesus Christ and also in Him that sent Him.
_"That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:9-13)_
It is those who receives Jesus and believes in his name that he gave power I.e Right to become sons of God. Faith gives you inheritance with the only begotten Son of God. This is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus. Though, you don't see Him, believe in the LORD that He is faithful and true, and able to bring his promises to pass, not in your on way of thinking but perfectly in his own divine way.

Father, I believe you and I put my trust in your only begotten Son, Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Help my unbelief! Deliver me from faithlessness. Make my heart strong to believe you always, in Jesus name. Amen!
