Hebrews

_2:1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.  2:2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;  2:3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;  2:4 God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?_

 *#GIVE THE MORE EARNEST HEED*

The word of the Lord is precious. Don't be casual with the way you handle the promises of God. We ought to give the more earnest heed to the things that we have heard. Let it, glue to your ears and abide with you throughout your life time.

It was quiet unfortunate, that the Israelites didn't take heed to what they have seen and heard in the wilderness, despite all the warnings that Moses the servant of God gave them to take heed. They saw many miracles performed for their sake. The red sea parted, water gushed out of the rock, manna from heaven dropped for them to eat. E.t.c Yet, the scripture said they were stiff necked people.  Almost, all of them that left the land of Egypt perished in the wilderness; they didn't get to the promise land, because of unbelief. It was their children, the new generation that entered into the inheritance, which the Lord has promised to their fathers. Joshua and Caleb were the only one, that was able to make it to the promise land out of the first generation, because they have a different spirit. They were full of faith to believe what the Lord has said to his people.

_Deuteronomy  4:9 Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons' sons;_

_Deuteronomy  4:15 Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the LORD spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire:_

_Deuteronomy  4:23 Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the LORD your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the LORD thy God hath forbidden thee._

If, we do not take good heed to the testimony of God's faithfulness to us in the past, we may soon forget what our eyes has seen and that which we have heard. And, if that should happen, we might be tempted to turn away from the faith and serve things that are lesser than God. Moses said to the Israelites, 'you saw no manner of  similitude I.e (an image that depict the exact form of God) On the day that the Lord spoke to you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire.' So, they would not create a graven image for themselves, when they get to the promise land and began to worship it.

The Lord is instructing everyone of us this day to give more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

#God bless you

#PRAYER
Blessed be thy name oh Lord, for your great loving-kindness which you have shown to us through the sacrifice for our sins. I pray, that which I have heard and seen will not slip away from me, in Jesus name. Amen!
