Hebrews

_6:16 For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.  6:17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:  6:18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:_

 *#A Strong Consolation*

It is the custom of men to Swear by something greater in striking a deal. The oath is given as a confirmation, which put an end to all strives. The both parties become sastified and the case is closed.

The almighty God, was willing more than just making a promise unto the heirs of promise. There was nothing greater by which he could swear, when he made a promise to Abraham, he sworn by himself. He then, shew to the heirs of promise the unchanging nature of his counsel, confirmed it with an oath.

There are two immutable things, which has come together to provide the heirs of promise with a very strong consolation. It is impossible for God to lie, that is never part of his nature. He, that made the promise is an immutable personality and the nature of the oath by which he confirmed the promise is also immutable. These are the two unchanging forces, that gives assurance to those of us who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us.

The oath is the seal of the promise. It has put an end to all strives. Let's  be encouraged and greatly consoled as we labour in the vineyard of God, knowing that our labour of love is not in vain. There is a sure reward for everyone, who are serving faithfully unto the end.

_John  14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.  14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also._

What consolation can be more than the above verses. 'He that hath an ear, let him hear!'

#God bless you
