1 Timothy
_6:17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; 6:18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; 6:19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life._
*#Laying Up a Good Foundation.*
There is a tendency for every rich person to be high-minded. Timothy was told to charge them that are rich in this world not to be high-minded. He tagged their riches as uncertain. Don't trust in uncertainty, because it is not forever. We came to this world with nothing and you are not permitted to take anything along, when you leave this world.
_"1 Timothy 6:7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out."_
Though you are rich, you are to trust the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. He is the source of all riches. He is the one that gives you the power to get wealth.(Deu. 8:18) You don't make it by your daily struggle. There are people, who are more hard working but they get little result. You're fortunate beloved, to be rich. There is nobody, that God cannot lift up to the status of riches and honour.
The important truth is that, we must be wise to lay up a good foundation for ourselves, against the time to come. A time is coming, when your riches will be irrelevant. Money is only useful in this world, they don't spend money in heaven. But, through the good foundation that you lay in good works with your riches, you may lay hold on eternal life. (Vs. 19)
_"Luke 16:9 And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations."_
Don't just be rich to your pocket or bank account. Be ready to distribute and willing to communicate. Make friends, not with the world but with kingdom citizens and influence them with the uncertain riches in your possession. Support Kingdom projects. Do an investment that will last till eternity. So, that when you fail, they can accommodate you into an everlasting habitations and you will not be ashamed.
_"Matthew 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: Matthew 6:20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:"_

Thank you Heavenly Father, for the blessings that I have received from above. Grant me the wisdom to lay good foundation against the time to come. I'll not be ashamed at the end of my life, in Jesus name. Amen!
