1 Timothy

 _1:18 This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;  1:19 Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:  1:20 Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme._ 

 *#WAR A GOOD WARFARE* 

Apostle Paul charged Timothy, according to the prophecies that has gone ahead of him. There is a good warfare for every believer, no matter how great and awesome the prophecies that you carry.

The greater the prophecies upon you, the higher the altitude of warfare. The good warfare that the apostle was talking about is a fight of faith. He charged Timothy in another chapter of the letter that he wrote to him, that he should fight the good fight of faith.

 _1 Timothy  6:12  Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses._ 

It's through the warfare of faith, that you can lay hold on eternal life. Paul fought his own warfare of faith and was talking from experience to Timothy. After he had completed his own good warfare, he made Timothy to know.

 _"2 Timothy  4:7  I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:"_ 

Holding to faith and a good conscience is a critical issue here for a successful warfare. Apostle Paul, identified some who have put away the faith and have made shipwreck. Backsliding follows when someone looses faith. The person becomes defeated in the good warfare. You can't go to war, as a believer without your shield of faith to quench every fiery darts of the enemy.

There are spiritual battles, but it only takes a good warfare approach to overcome. Fighting from the point of view of the victory, that our Lord Jesus has given us through his cross and enforcing that victory by the confession of our faith. The perpetual faith in Christ Jesus will give us access to lay hold on eternal life, which is the goal of our christian faith.

Thank you eternal Father.   I bless you for the precious overcoming faith in Christ Jesus. I receive the grace to war the good warfare till the very end. That, no matter the troubles of life, I shall keep the faith, in Jesus name. Amen!
