Matthew  8:5 And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,  8:6 And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.  8:7 And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.  8:8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.  8:9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

*Faith in the Authority of God's Word*

The centurion came to Jesus with an understanding of the Authority in the spoken word. He might possibly knew other ways to get his servant healed, but he decided to look for Jesus, because He has a conviction that the Lord carries a special authority to heal the sick. He might have heard about the testimonies of what the Lord has done in diverse places.

He approached Jesus by faith and expected to get divine solution to the sickness of palsy. Palsy is a deadly disease, but this man hope that his servant would be healed. Jesus told him, that he would come and heal him, but the faith of this man was so strong and he would not have to wait for the arrival of Jesus to touch the man. He portrayed humility by claiming he wasn't worthy to have Jesus under his roof. He wasn't arrogant with his faith, but was down to earth in his thoughts, looking forward to mercy and compassion towards his servant

The conviction of his faith in the authority of God's word made him request that, Jesus should speak the word only and his servant would be healed. Oh! What a great faith? He cited an example of himself as a man under authority commanding his servants here and there and they complied. This revealed the depth of his understanding about the authority and power of the spoken word from a person that is under authority.

He acknowledged by faith the spiritual authority, that Jesus has to heal his servant. He knew that he doesn't have authority in that jurisdiction and sought for the one who has it. Faith in the authority of God's word opens the portal to experience the supernatural. The Lord spoke the word only, just as he requested and immediately his servant got healed that same hour.

๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ PRAYER

Lord, I believe in the authority and power in your word. Speak your word today into my life for salvation, deliverance and divine healing in Jesus name. Amen!
