📖 📖 📖 TEXT (Genesis 39:7-12)

' _And it came to pass after these things, that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me. But he refused, and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand; There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her. And it came to pass about this time, that Joseph went into the house to do his business; and there was none of the men of the house there within. And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out._

🔮 TOPIC:*Give no Space for Sin*

Joseph was an handsome young man, who fear God. There was an unusual grace of God upon his life and he has seen the the future ahead. He had some dreams, which he shared with his brethren and they hated him for it. He was sold to Egypt by his brethren, because of the jealousy and envy. They were watching to see how his dream will come to pass. He found favour with his master, that bought him from the hands of the Ishmaelites. Portiphar made him the head of his house and put everything he had under his care. 

The wife of Portiphar was a trap set up by the enemy to truncate the destiny of Joseph, but Joseph would not give space to the devil to bring him down. Portiphar's wife casted eyes on Joseph and wanted to lure him to have an affair with her, but he refused several times. But, on another occasion as Joseph was doing his business in the house, Portiphar's wife saw it as an opportunity to accomplish the mission she has intended to do all these days. She grabbed the garment of Joseph and wanted him to lie with her by force. But, the young man will not compromise at this critical point and rather choose to leave his garment with her and ran away for his dear life. 

Joseph was tempted in a very tight corner, and will not fall for the pleasure that will ruin his destiny. He fled from the appearance of evil. The story of Joseph might have just ended without any significance, his dreams would have been dashed to nothing. He might not have eventually become the prime minister of the whole country. But, alas he passed the test! He preserved the dignity of his identity. He stood for God and the Lord was with him, even though he was put in the prison for wrong accusation from the woman, but his conscience was completely free and his destiny unharmed. He preferred suffering for that which his right, than for God's presence to leave him. 

If, you are a man and woman of purpose, don't give space for sin in your life. Reject every offer that the devil brings to your table to make you compromise your stand. The Lord that sees in the secret will reward you openly. You are not a looser, if you are on the Lord side. God delight in your stand for purity. Sin always present itself as a cheap commodity, but the wages is costly. The wages of sin is death!

I'm grateful Lord for all that you have done to set me free from the captivity of sin. Please, help me to live a victorious christian life, as I daily trust you for grace in Jesus name. Amen! 🙏
