Proverbs  14:26 

 _"In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.  14:27 The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death."_

 *The Fear of the Lord*

'The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.'  Wisdom has it source in the fear of the Lord. This is a reverential fear of God to obey His commandments. It will be difficult to please God, if His fear is not in our hearts. Every person who walked with God in the Holy bible feared God and honored Him with their lives. 

Anyone who does not fear God, will fear and worship something lesser than the creator. There is strong confidence in the fear of God. It makes one to become bold in confronting the challenges of life with the appropriate view and perspective to overcome. David was able to see Goliath, as an uncircumcised philistine and saw the children of Israel, as a people who have covenant with the living and true God. The fear of the Lord gave him confidence to confront and defeat Goliath. 

Our children and generations can find a place of refuge in God by raising them on the foundation of the fear of the Lord. Abraham feared the Lord, so was Isaac and Jacob. The children of Israel all enjoyed the covenant blessings, which the Lord made with their fathers. The fear of the Lord is the genesis of a covenantal walk with God. 

It is a fountain of life to depart from the snares of death. It keeps our hearts from doing evil, which can shorten one's life. It is the surge that protect our hearts and keep our feet from threading the path of destruction. Whosoever, has the fear of the Lord has found a fountain of life and shall be delivered from the snares of death.
